OpenBuilt
Envisioning and creating an industry platform
OpenBuilt is an initiative to create connectivity and standardisation platform for the built environment enabling data exchange and workflow automation without the need for software developers.
The project started at IBM in May 2020 and was spun out as a separate entity, OpenBuilt Ltd, in September 2020. The venture completed its first round of funding in April 2021 and was Gageware's first client.
Chris originated key aspects of the platform concept, i.e. the Automate solution to build automated workflows with low-code. Also key areas of strategy such as spinning the company out as an independent entity to simplify intellectual property rights between investors and provide an investable vehicle for attracting new investors.
Gageware helped manage the interface with IBM who were the lead service provider developing the platform, and advised the board on all aspects of the business.
